Anglo Aquatics Iris Versicolor 1 Litre 3 Pack

This Anglo Aquatics Iris Versicolor is a Marginal plant that comes with purple flowers and is ideal for placing in shallow edges or on shallow planting shelves.

Marginal plants are perfect for the borders of your pond where the water is most shallow, or perhaps on a planting shelf. They are able to tolerate waterlogged soil but should be planted no deeper than four inches below the water level. These hardy aquatic plants can be grown outside of the water also, as long as their soil is kept consistently moist.

Benefits: Narrow, erect foliage and branched stems bearing several bluish-purple flower with spotted yellow throat. As with all iris the tubers are harmful if eaten.

Helpful Tips: After foliage has died back in Autumn cut back to just above the water surface. If trimming left until spring take care not to damage emerging shoots.

Repotting or Replanting: 9cm marginal plants require potting into a mesh basket. Place in a pond no deeper than 1/3 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. 1 litre marginal plants do not require repotting; there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place in pond no deeper than 1/2 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. 3 litre and 5 litre plants do not require repotting; there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place on the shelf of the pond at the required depth.
